Somewhere between heaven and earth…

Looking out from the entrance to the Collegio del Colle, one cannot help but admire the spectacular view of the rolling green hills which characterise the Marche region.

…centuries-old brickwork…

In 1965 an old convent located on the Colle dei Cappuccini hill, not far from the town’s historic centre, was transformed into a university college by Senator Carlo Bo, the university’s Chancellor for over fifty years. The project was designed by the internationally renowned architect Giancarlo De Carlo who had already restored and renovated many of the town’s major historical buildings – including the university headquarters and faculty buildings, the Sanzio theatre and Francesco de Giorgio Martini’s spiralling ramp and the Data wing of the Palazzo dei Montefeltro – and who also worked on Urbino’s town planning.
