In a place where students outnumber the town’s inhabitants, a wide range of services are on offer, set up and run by ERSU (the regional organisation promoting the right to university education). Services include accommodation (1,500 beds), two large directly-managed restaurants, various other eateries offering special deals to students, the provision of study grants and loans, foreign travel grants and grants for study abroad, disabled services, healthcare, subsidised public transport, subsidised text-books, information services, open days and programmes encouraging cultural and recreational activities.
